What to Expect

Alien Quarantine is a top-down shooter set across a compromised station where every mission builds through enemy waves toward a boss. Combat is paired with objectives such as restoring consoles, rescuing survivors, recovering items, and reaching evacuation.

Core Gameplay

Working Through Twenty Missions

The station campaign contains twenty missions, giving each completed level a clear place in a longer descent. Enter a mission by locating the objective route and the largest open combat area before pressure builds. A consistent opening survey helps when later sectors change their visuals and threats without changing the need for space.

Surviving Three Waves

Every level presents three escalating enemy waves followed by a larger unique boss. Use early waves to learn entry points and preserve grenades for moments when several targets cluster. Between waves, reposition toward open ground and check the next objective rather than remaining beside the last defeated enemy.

Learning Sector-Specific Enemies

Alien types and attacks vary from sector to sector. On first contact, move laterally and observe what the new enemy sends toward the character before committing to a fixed firing position. Once its pattern is visible, choose a route that avoids the attack while keeping the mouse aimed through the safest damage window.

Completing Station Objectives

Restoring power consoles, rescuing crew, recovering samples, securing evacuation routes, and moving deeper turn combat space into mission space. Clear the nearby threat before pressing E, then interact from a position that does not invite fire across the objective. If the action is interrupted, leave, stabilize the room, and return.

Controls

Move with WASD or the arrow keys, aim with the mouse, left-click to fire, right-click to throw a grenade, press E to use consoles, collect items, or activate exits, and Esc to pause. Touchscreen uses the displayed movement, fire, grenade, and interact controls.

Move with WASD or the arrow keys, aim with the mouse, and left-click to fire. Right-click throws a grenade. E operates consoles, collects items, and activates exits; Esc pauses. Practice moving sideways while keeping the pointer on one stationary point so movement and aim remain independent.

Touchscreen play displays movement, fire, grenade, and interact controls. Keep the firing thumb clear of the grenade button until a cluster or boss opening is prepared. When approaching a console, release movement before tapping interact so the character does not drift out of the useful position.

Beginner Tips

Orbit Open Ground

Keep moving around open space while aiming so a wave cannot surround the character. Circling through open space keeps the wave on one side more often than backing into an unseen corner. Turn before reaching a wall, fire across the group while moving, and inspect the new escape lane after each change. If aliens split around an obstacle, pass through the thinner side before they close the loop.

Secure the Console Area

Clear nearby threats before holding position to interact with a console or objective. E needs enough calm to finish the intended station action. Eliminate the nearest attackers, check behind the character, and only then step to the console, survivor, sample, or exit. If a projectile enters the area, abandon the interaction and resume it after creating space; staying alive preserves the objective attempt.

Hold a Grenade for Density

Save a grenade for a tightly grouped wave or a boss opening where it can land cleanly. Right-click area damage has greater value when enemies overlap or a boss exposes a reliable target window. Do not spend every grenade on single scattered aliens during wave one. Keep at least one for a dense later wave until the mission demonstrates that ordinary fire can handle its pressure.

Common Mistakes

Interacting While the Room Is Contested

Standing beside an objective before the area is safe can interrupt the interaction repeatedly. Standing at a console under attack combines stationary attention with incoming danger. Break away as soon as the local area becomes unsafe, clear or draw off the threat, and approach E again from open ground. Repeatedly forcing the same interaction does not make the surrounding wave disappear.

Throwing Grenades at Isolated Targets

Using every grenade on scattered enemies can leave no area attack for a dense wave. A grenade used on one ordinary enemy cannot answer the next group or a boss opening. Return to left-click fire and movement for separated targets. When several aliens converge, aim the grenade where the group will be rather than where its front member was at the start of the throw.

Practice Plan for Alien Quarantine

In the first mission, move a full loop around the largest clear area while aiming toward its center. Add short left-click bursts without stopping. Before using E on the first objective, check every approach and deliberately clear the closest enemy, establishing the combat-to-interaction transition.

During the three waves, note where each group appears and save one grenade for the densest formation. At the boss, spend a few moments observing the unique attack while moving, then throw only when the target and escape path are both clear. Repeat this observation whenever a later sector introduces a new alien type.

Decisions

When a wave arrives during an objective, decide immediately whether E can finish before contact. If not, move away early and fight in open space. Delaying the decision can trap the character between the console and the attackers while accomplishing neither task.

When a new alien fires an unfamiliar pattern, prioritize learning its safe direction over maximizing damage. Move across the attack, watch its spacing, and return fire once the route is understood. One conservative cycle can prevent repeated damage across the rest of that sector.

When the boss follows wave three, enter the encounter with a known movement lane. Do not remain where the final ordinary group happened to fall. Recenter in open ground, check grenade availability, and let the boss reveal its attack before committing to the interaction edge or a narrow station corridor.

Checklist

  • If aliens approach from two sides, move through the thinner side before the gap closes.
  • If an objective area is under fire, clear space before pressing E again.
  • If targets are scattered, use normal fire and preserve the grenade for a cluster.
  • If a sector introduces a new attack, observe one pattern cycle while moving.

Progression and Modes

Twenty missions deepen the station route through changing sectors, three-wave structures, bosses, and varied objectives. Advancement is easier when each level is divided into repeatable phases: survey the room, control the wave, complete the local task, then prepare open space for the boss or exit. New enemies alter the route, not that underlying discipline.

Device Setup

Desktop combines keyboard movement, mouse aim, two mouse buttons, E, and Esc. Touchscreen supplies separate movement, fire, grenade, and interaction controls. Keep the mission prompt, objective location, and peripheral threats visible; a cropped frame makes both station navigation and top-down combat harder to read.
